Visit from Germany, New Orleans and South Africa-Visitas de Alemania, Nueva Orleans y Sur Africa 2007

Anne Volz came to visit last week in December. She spend new years and a bit more with us. It is always so good to have her to us and share the gift of friendship with her. Bred and Cafe! She came for April and Darin's wedding. She used to serve at Millersville International House. We spend together good time also in the Italian Market in Philadelphia. It was a great blessing to have us in our home. Anne Volz vino a visitarnos la ultima semana de Diciembre. Ella paso ano nuevo y un poquito mas. Siempre es buno tenerla con nosotros y compartir del regalo de la amistad con ella. Ella estuvo sirviendo con la casa internacional en Millersville. Pasamos un buen rato en el mercado italiano en Filadelfia. She also brought us goodies from Germany. Ella tambien nos trajo cosas ricas de Alemania. With us, also during that time, was Herman Nafziger visiting us... well, visiting his family in Millersville. He came to visit just for couple of days and then left back to New Orleans. We really miss him around here. Tambien con nostros estuvo visitandonos Herman Nafziger... y bueno, visitando su familia en Millersville. El vino por solo un par de dias y despues regreso a Nueva Orleans. Nosotros lo extranamos mucho por aqui. In December, our friend Shelley Ann Franci's family came to visit. Her sister Sherenis stayed in our home. Shelley's family came for her graduation. Her parents, sister, ant and cousin came all the way from South Africa. Shelley's family is so much fun to be with. En Diciembre, la familia de nuestra amiga Shelley Ann Francis vino a visitarla. Su hermana Sherenis se hospedo en nuestra casa. La familia de Shelley vino para la gra-duacion de ella. Su familia es muy divertida.

Christmas Caroling and Party 2006

In December we have a lot of activities. One of them was a caroling night with Dean's German students, their parents and friends. We went to Conestoga View Hospital. We divided the group in two, and we covered most of the building. We sang German corals and we tried to greet the patients and nurses. After the activity we went all back to Conestoga Valley School and have cookies and drinks. It was so nice to get to know more of Dean's students and their parents. On Christmas Eve we invited to all our friends and family to celebrate Christmas Eve at the Honduran Stile. Many people came to celebrate and eat some of the goodies of many countries. Felixa and Alicia Nafziger made Nacatamales for the celebration. We usually go to a church service after the meal, but that night we decide to have some christmas corals and then open presents. En Diciembre tuvimos muchas actividades. Una de ellas fue la noche de coros navidenos con los estudiantes de aleman donde ensena Dean, sus padres y amigos. Fuimos al hopital de Conestoga View. Nos dividimos en dos grupos y asi cubrimos la mayoria del edificio. Cantamos en Aleman y tratamos de saludar a los pacientes y a las enfermeras. Despues de esta actividad fuimos a la escuela de Dean, Conestoga Valley y tuvimos galletas y bebidas. fue bueno conocer mas a los estudiantes de Dean y a los padres de ellos. En la noche buena invitamos a todos nuestros amigos y familiares a celebrar la noche buena de navidad al estilo Hondureno. Muchas personas vinieron a celebrar y comer de lo sabroso de muchos paises. Felixa y Alicia Nafziger hicieron Nacatamales para la celebracion. Nosotros usualmente vamos despues de la comida a la reunion de la iglesia, pero esta ves decidimos cantar coros navidenos y despues abrir los regalos. Fue muy divertido!

Vogel-Pajaro Gaspar November 2006

This is Gaspar. We bird-sit a cockatiel for about 5 months. We never thought that a small bird will have great personality. It was not difficult to fall in love with him. At the beginning he was very close to Felixa, but then Dean and Gaspar were inseparable. After his owner was able to have him back, our home had a big whole because this little great bird. Este es Gaspar. Nosotros estuvimos cuidandolo por lo menos unos 5 meses. Nunca pensamos que un pajaro tan pequeno tuviera tanta personalidad. No fue dificil enamorarse de el. Al principio el estuvo muy apegado a Felixa, pero despues Dean y Gaspar se volvieron inseparable. Despues de que su dueno podia tenerlo de regreso a su casa, nuestro hogar tenia un gran espacio vacio sin este pequeno gran pajarito.

Marvin House Warming in October 2006

In October, we celebrated with Marvin, his new house acquisition. We did a house-warming party for him inviting his family and friends. We all brought for him so many good-interesting gifts and surprises. In the wall of his new dining room, there is a spectacular painting, which help him to made the decision and to buy the house. En Octubre, celebramos juntamente con Marvin la adquisicion de su nueva casa. Le hicimos una gran fiesta de bienvenida y mucha gente participo con diferentes regalos y sorpresas. En la pared de su nuevo comedor, hay una pintura espectacular, el cual sirvio para que marvin tomara la decision de comprar la casa.

Melanie's cabin!-En la cabana de Melanie

The last two weeks in September we went to have a nice weekend in a cabin that belongs to Melanie's parents. It was around 15 people who went that weekend. During that time we celebrate Dean's birthday. The weather was nice. Couple of the night we spend good cuality time around the pond. The view was great, the company fantastic and the food was excellent! Las dos ultimas semanas de septiembre fuimos a tener un bonito fin de semana a una cabana que le pertenece a los padres de Melanie. Fuimos alrededor de 15 personas ese fin de semana. Durante ese tiempo le celebramos a Dean su cumpleanos. El clima estuvo buenicimo. Un par de noches compartimos calidad de tiempo alrededor de una laguna. La vista fue espectacular, la compania fue fantastica y la comida excelente.

Felixa Visited Honduras in September!

Felixa went to Honduras after we returned from Europe. Dean could not go because he was about to start again teaching German at his school. Felixa fue a Honduras despues de que regresamos de Europa. Dean no pudo ir porque el iba a comenzar a dar clases de aleman en la escuela donde trabaja. While Felixa was there, she could visit some friend. Florencia and her family took her to eat Felixa's favorite meal: Yuca con Chicharron!. George from Germany was visiting them as well. Mientras Felixa estuvo en Honduras, ella tuvo la oportunidad de visitar a algunos amigos. Florencia y su familia invito a Felixa a comer su comida favorita: Yuca con Chicharron! Jorge de Alemania estuvo visitandoles tambien. She was visiting her family because her sister Valia was giving birth her first niece, JOYCE ELIZABETH. She is a miracle! Thank you so much for your prayers. Ella estuvo visitando a su familia porque su hermana dio a luz su primera sobrina, JOYCE ELIZABETH. Ella es un milagro nacido! Gracias a todo ustedes por sus oraciones. She also visited her father, who lives in a small town 1 hour away from the capital city. She had a lot fun visiting her father. Her brother Tuny and his family went a long. Ella tambien visito su papa quien vive en un pueblo a las afueras de la capital.
